Should I be able to see my submission when I select Post?

Yes, after you select post, there will be a delay while your image uploads, after which your article will appear

Re the image - I like the vivid colors.  I don't see where you set a neutral, as there is still a strong green cast for the brushed steel frame around the fruit.
