Set Neutrals

In a Nutshell
Click on one or more objects in your image that you know to be white or gray.

More Detail

Usually one or two midtone gray objects will be sufficient to remove any overall color cast from your image.

To avoid tying the curves into knots, use neutral points sparingly, and take care to keep your neutral objects reasonably far away from one another on the curve.

If you have already set a shadow or highlight in the previous steps, a single neutral point in the middle brightness range is usually sufficient to remove any remaining color cast from your image.

If you have not set a shadow or highlight, look for a bright colorless object in your picture and click on it to remove color.

Power Tips

In Lab mode only one of your neutral points will be used. In HSB mode, neutral points are ignored.

RGB and wgCMYK mode can effectively use an arbitrary number of neutral points, but usually one or two well-placed points are sufficient.
