Can someone fix the forum server please!
« on: April 11, 2007, 03:26:29 AM »
I'm getting loads of '500 Internal Server Error's reading from and posting to these forums. It took me about 4 goes to post my last message. Is it just me? I doubt it - I don't think the macine is happy.

I'm not getting any internal server errors.....

Chris said he hasn't either, but I must have had a dozen or more today. They'll be in the server logs...

I just did a search of the support forum for the software (SMF) used to run this forum.

The 500 server error can happen randomly when the site uses too much processor - this could be a bug in the forum software, or a matter of the server being bogged down and running out of resources.

As Greg says, the error logs don't seem to record the error 500's.  There's not a lot we can do except wait for it to rear its head again.
