Problems with PSE7 and curvemeister
« on: January 31, 2010, 03:08:22 PM »
Hi,

Elements crashes immediately when i try to use Curvemeister from the filters menu.
I have Vista 64-bit, PSEelements 7.

I have tried version 3.0.15, 3.0.18 and 3.0.19.

Any suggestion how to resolve this problem?

Hi Gengh,

This is usually due to the window settings being messed up.  I'll follow up later today with a way to clear those settings.

Meantime, if you could let me know whether Curvemeister worked before on your system, or is this a new install?

Hi,

thanks for your fast reply! I'm impressed:)

This is a new install for me, It's not working at all. I have a copy of SmartCurve installed, can that be related to CM not working?

Remember that 64 bit Vista does not equal 64 bit Photoshop.
If you PSE 7 running in Vista X64 you really have a 32 bit Photoshop and need the 32 bit version of CM to make it go right...

If this is not the case the 32 bit version of 3.0.19 is working on my Win7 64bit with PSE8 and it worked with PSE7 as well.  Did you install the VC run time software?

I downloaded CM using the link I was sent: http://www.curvemeister.com/downloads/curvemeister3e_product_QRS/

I thought that was the 32-bit version, but I wasn't given a choice between 32-/64-bit.

I have installed the MS redistributables if that is what you mean by VC run time software.

It is correct. The MS redistributable software is usually the problem.
The 64Bit version is a link at the top of the page.  If you did not go there then you have the correct versions...

Let's see what Mike comes back with...

My apologies for taking so long on this, gengh.  I have second thoughts about the settings being the problem, since you just installed curvemeister.

Are you running the latest version, 3.0.19, or the earlier version 3.0.15?

SmartCurves is not likely to be a problem.

Right now it's version 3.0.18, I have tried version 15/18 and 19 without success

gengh,

I think the first thing to do is to back off to version 3.0.15.

I've sent you an email.  For some reason I'm not getting notified when you reply to this thread, and the result is it takes too long for me to reply each time.
