An image to improve
« on: May 07, 2009, 05:38:03 AM »
I found this image on scancafe.com.  Shadow, highlight, and neutral would go far to improve it.

  • How likely is it that a married couple is riding in an olive green automobile?  If you accept an olive green car, how likely is it that the wedding couple wore an olive green wedding gown and shirt?
  • Are the skin tones reasonable?

Can you use the answers to the above questions to improve this image

Because of the age of the car...Look at the door handle...I can accept the olive green color.  It looks to be a late 30's early 40's vinatge and drab green was a popular car color if this is a restore rather than a customization.

Olive Green for Wedding gown..not likely but off white may appear that way with the color shift.

There are certainly a few problems here...

I like gremurphoto's - the interior of the car, and the flowers, are much better.  Surprisingly, I found that the skin tone hues were about right in this image.

Here's my 10 minute attempt.  I also went for the interior of the car, particularly the faces.  There's still some blue hanging around in the highlights I don't like.

Here is my swing at this interesting image...

I cropped the ribbon from the right it was really making life tough.  Car appears to be Black not Green...
Multiple passes with CM.
1) RGB By The Numbers
2) Lab for Lightness
3) RGB with a skin mask for the blue cast in the gown.  Look to the hat for a better color than the sleve which could be reflecting some blue sky.
4) Finish in LAB for lightness and a saturation slider 1.10
